Adrien Delorme

His birth date is unknowned. He is a member of a family of Parisian cabinetmakers whose surname, Faizelot , was attached to a second name, "de Lorme" , or Delorme . He was the eldest son of François Faizelot - Delorme (1691 - 1768) , who was installed at Tiquetonne street and have been specialized in Chinese lacquer's furniture or "way to China" vernish. Also, Adrien produced Chinese lacquer's furniture with a highly distinctive style of "Rocaille" as the chest of drawers at the Rijksmuseum, in Amsterdam. Later, he specialized in marquetry work, creating his own style. Well known a series of tables and  chests of drawers also so close to the work of B.V.R.B. (from their frames and bronzes). People let wonder about a possible collaboration between those two cabinetmakers. His reputation was such big that he was quoted in the an old almanacs as "one of the most skilful and most renowned for inlay works". Located rue du Temple, he was a cabinetmaker and merchant. In 1768, he was elected "master" to his corporation to replace his father just died and who held this distinction since 1766. In 1783, when he closed down, he put his stock in public sale that included "amount of chets of drawers and desks, decorated with golden fonts, marble top and alabaster. "

His two brothers were also cabinetmakers; first, Jean-Louis, a master in 1763, exploited the establishment of his father at Tiquetonne Street from 1768 to 1780 and specialized in the restoration and resale of Boulle furniture. Thus we find his stamp on a bookcase in the Wallace collection or on a wardrobein the Museum of Versailles. The second, Alexis, a master in 1772 devoted to the trade at St. Denis Street furniture until 1786.
